Volunteers
Volunteer opportunities are often available. Some of the areas in which volunteers are utilized are: Adult Day Services, Archives, Golden Diners, mailings and special events.

Adult Day Services – lead or assist with group activities such as physical exercise, arts and crafts, bingo; listen to and talk with elderly clients. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteering even one day a week is a great help for our seniors. Please e-mail or call the Adult Day Services Coordinator at 773.275.7212 ext. 239.

Golden Diners – assist with serving lunches to seniors. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m to noon. Again, volunteering even one day a week is greatly appreciated. Please e-mail or call the Assistant Executive Director at 773.275.0097 ext. 229.

Mailings – assist with mass mailings: stuffing, folding and labeling. Generally mailing "parties" are held on a week day morning, and last 2 to 3 hours. Volunteers are called as needed. Please call 773.275.0097 to have your name added to our mailing volunteer list.

Special events – JASC holds several special fundraising events throughout the year. There are a variety of ways to help ensure these events run successfully. If you are interested in participating in our Market Day bazaar (early June), Fuji Festival & Silent Auction (mid-September), or Holiday Delight festival (early December), please e-mail or call the Special Events Coordinator at 773.275.0097 ext. 223.

Donations
The JASC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations to the JASC are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. (Please check with your accountant regarding your specific tax situation.)

Monetary donations are welcome at any time, and can be made in memory of a loved one; in honor/celebration of a special occasion; part of a bequest/charitable gift; designated for a particular program, (i.e., Adult Day Services, Homemaker Support Services); or just given outright.

JASC is always on the lookout for treasures...especially if they are Japanese (dolls, dishes, artwork, etc.). These items will help us raise funds at Market Day, Fuji Festival & Silent Auction, and Holiday Delight.

Wish List – the JASC could greatly benefit by the donation of the following items. Because our storage space is limited, we cannot accept donations of clothing, magazines or general reading materials. Please e-mail or call the Assistant Executive Director at 773.275.0097 ext. 229 if you have additional questions. Donations may be dropped off at JASC Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
