Cooking Classes

Learning to prepare traditional, home-style Japanese food is a delicious way to explore and preserve Japanese cultural heritage, and one your whole family is sure to enjoy!  Enjoy these mostly demonstration style classes where our instructors will walk you through how to prepare dishes and then enjoy eating the treats made in the class!

Each class takes place on a Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Class size is limited to the first 12 people to register and pay.  Class fees, which may vary with the food being prepared, cover the cost of all materials and ingredients.

Maki-Sushi Plus – Class FULL
Roll your own maki-sushi, hoso-maki, California-maki, and more!  Learn the technique to rolling your own sushi in this hands-on class!

Okonomi-Yaki Plus – Class FULL
Known as Japanese-style pancake or Japanese pizza this dish is made with flour, water, eggs, cabbage, green onions and other ingredients can include sliced pork, beef, shrimp, squid, etc.

Many are made with sweet red bean paste and rice flour.  Come enjoy some strawberry daifuku mochi, soft cinnamon mochi, sweet steam bun, warabi-mochi, and much more!

Ramen Noodles – Class FULL
Ramen is a popular dish consisting of Chinese-style wheat noodles with delicious broth flavored with beef, pork, chicken or seafood. Toppings are cha-shu pork, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, hard-boiled egg etc.

Nabe-Mono (One-Pot Dishes)
Create Yose-nabe (shrimp, red snapper, and other sea food with vegetables) and Kimuchi-nabe (pork and vegetable).  These one-pot meals are delicious and eaten at the table as they cook.  Perfect for cold weather!
