Community Services

JASC provides much needed community services to people of all ages, ethnicities and economic means. From helping older adults live independently, comfortably and safely, to helping bridge the gaps caused by differences in language, custom or age, to helping people maintain optimal health of body, mind and spirit, JASC strengthens the fabric of our community.

Even before JASC was officially incorporated in August 1946 as the Chicago Resettlers Committee, dedicated Japanese Americans were working to help the tens of thousands released from the World War II incarceration camps find housing, jobs, and the other necessities for life here in Chicago.

The mission of Service has been integral to JASC ever since, even as the population being served has expanded, and services have changed to meet contemporary needs.
